Mona Fern Dent McManus

Mona Fern Dent McManus, 88, of Seligman, Mo., died Sunday, April 4, atNew Hope Health and Rehabilitation in Rogers. She was born Jan. 19, 1922, at Gann Ridge in Benton County, toSilas and Bessie E. (Gann) Webb.

McManus received her education at Sunnyside School in Barry County, Mo. Most of her life was spent on a farm raising cattle and chickens. She was a member of Corinth Church of Christ in Garfield.

On Dec. 15, 1937, she was united in marriage to Elmer Dent, who preceded her in death on April 14, 1988. OnJuly 11, 1995, she married R.B. “Buck” McManus, who also preceded her in death.

Others preceding her in death were her parents;

two brothers, Carl Webb and Henry Silas Webb and three sisters, Lily Barker, Kathryn Wilson and Teddy Thompson.

Survivors include one son, Ron Dent and his wife, Nell, of Bentonville; one daughter, Kay Cole and her husband, Charles, of Seligman; three grandchildren, Angela Hayward, Shelly Crabtree and Jamie Lovitt; and four great-grandchildren, Mahala and Kaylea Crabtree, Jazzi Lovitt and Noah Hayward.

The family received friends Wednesday, April 7, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville, Mo.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 8, in Fohn Funeral Home,Cassville, with Wayne Deffenbaugh officiating.

Burial was in Bayless Cemetery, Garfield.

Kenneth Poe

Kenneth Poe, 56, of Bella Vista, died Sunday, April 4, in Bella Vista. Hewas born March 20, 1954, in Ulysses, Kan., to Basil and Fern Poe.

Poe grew up in southwestKansas and graduated from Ulysses High School. He attended Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina, Kan. He married Bobbi Lynam on Sept. 14,1986. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and much more.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbi, of the home;

a daughter, Shana and her husband, Steven Taylor;

a son Daniel and his wife, Megan Poe; grandchildren, Andersen Taylor, Isabel Poe and Wyatt Poe, all of Omaha, Neb.;

a sister, Betty Burns of Ulysses; and family and friends.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 8, at Sisco Funeral Home, Pea Ridge.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, April 9, at New Life Fellowship Church in Pea Ridge, with cremation following.

Mary Louise Homyk

Mary Louise Homyk, 94, of Seligman, Mo., died Wednesday, April 7,, at St.

John’s Hospital in Cassville, Mo. She was born on July 30, 1915, in Ochelata, Okla. to Buel and Mary (Bowman) Boggess,

She attended high school at Our Lady of Victory in Fort Worth, Texas. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas and then a master’s degree in library science at Texas Women’s University.

On Feb. 1, 1938, she was united in marriage to Nicholas Homyk. Mrs. Homyk was a teacher and a librarian for the Rogers Public Schools in Rogers until her retirement.

She and Mr. Homyk moved to Texas where they resided until the passing of Nicholas in August of 1995. She then returned tothe Rogers area until 2007 when she moved to Missouri to be closer to her family. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Burkburnett, Texas.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Homyk and his wife, Debi, of Seligman, Mo., and David Homyk and his wife, Marsha, of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandchildren, Nick Homyk and Kristen Howcroft, both of Texas; and one great-grandchild, Hagen Homyk.

Services were held Monday, April 12, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Burkburnett, Texas.
