AREA EVENTS

Spaghetti dinner for NEBCO

GARFIELD - The NEBCO Volunteer Fire Department will hold their all-you-can-eat Spaghetti Feed fund raiser from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the NEBCO Community Center, 17823 Marshall St.

(U.S. Highway 62).

The all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner includes a drink, salad, bread and dessert, with spaghetti refills.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children 5-12 and free for children under 5 years of age.

All proceeds go to the building fund for the new NEBCO VFD fire station No. 2 on Posey Mountain.

Regional Chamber Business Expo

The fourth annual Business Expo for the Regional Chamber of Commerce serving Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri is set for 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Saturday, April 17, at the Pea Ridge High School.

Along with the interactive vendor booths, there will be a health and safety theme and an American Red Crossblood drive. The Expo offers reasonable rates for all businesses and a reduced rate for non-profit groups.

Remembering the ’80s Blackhawk Reunion

Remembering the ’80s Blackhawk Reunion will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday May 8. A catered dinner will be served in the Intermediate School cafeteria.

Immediately following the dinner, participants are invited to gather in the old gym for an evening of memories and laughter.

Admission is $20 per person. Please RSVP with your money to Sherri Dean at 18350 Marshall St., Garfield, AR 72732, by April 17.

This will help achieve an accurate head count for the meal. If you choose to pay at the door, the charge will be $25 per person.

Free electronic recycling event

SPRINGDALE - The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, along with Benton County Solid Waste District and others, will sponsor a free electronic recycling event to give the area the opportunity to dispose of electronic waste by reusing or recycling all unwanted electronic materials.

The event will be April 15-17 at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale. For more information, call 479-444-1725.

Silent Auction

POWELL, Mo. - The Powell Historical Preservation Society (PHPS) will host the third Silent Auction from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Rocky Comfort Elementary School south of Longviewon Mo. Hwy. 76.

David Bunch, auctioneer, will oversee the silent auction, and the live auction of pies, cakes and other baked goods. The baked goods sale will begin at 2 p.m.

This year the music entertainment will be provided by the hand-clapping, toe-tapping folk group Baled Green and Wired Tight. The PHPS will raffleoff a handmade metal elk welcome sign from the studio of metal artist Diane Evans, Country Comforts Salon and Day Spa, Wheaton, Mo. The raffle kicks off on April 17 and will run through the PHPS Fall Fundraiser.

Proceeds go toward turn the county’s historic iron bridge at Powell into a walking bridge. Must be present to win door prizes.

Vegas Night fundraiser

ROGERS - The Kyler Kasper Foundation presents Vegas Night, a fundraiser to benefit Pea Ridge resident Kyler Kasper suffering from Diamond Blackfan Anemia.

The event will be from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. Cost is $50 per ticket in advance, tickets will not be sold at the door.

Dinner will be provided to all ticket holders as well as poker chips to start off a night of fun. There will also be a cash bar and high roller table.

Grand prize is two roundtrip tickets to Las Vegas, Nev.
