— What is your job title?

Head boys track coach, assistant high school football coach and I teach eighth grade math and algebra I.

What does being the head senior boys track coach entail? I schedule track meets and am responsible for all the running and other events. I coach the sprinters, distance runners and throwers.

Where are you from?

Midland, Texas.

Where did you go to college and in what is your degree? Harding; math and education, I have a double major.

Did you play sports in high school and/or college? I played football at Harding, and football, basketball and track in high school.

What was your first job out of college? It was pretty much the same exact job title at West Memphis Christian School.

How long have you been teaching in Pea Ridge? This is my third year.

What brought you to Pea Ridge? I was in between jobs, I applied at several different schools.

Coach Laster, the former coach here, and I hit it off right off the bat.

How has Pea Ridge changed since you have been here? Well, it’s only been three years so it hasn’t changed a whole lot. It’s changed physically, more schools have gone up.

What are your hobbies outside of work? Hunting and fishing, and carpentry and woodwork.

What is something that is unique about coaching at Pea Ridge? The coaching staff - everybody got along right away, everybody is trying to promote athletics, it isn’t a competition.

What is the most important thing to teach kids this age? How to make good decisions instead of snap decisions on the spur of the moment.
