Gravette dominates senior track meet

Pea Ridge boys took 15th place with 10 points while the girls finished 14th with 9 markers.

— A trio of Blackhawk boys and the same number of girl athletes were among the scorers at the Senior Lion Track Invitational.

The host Lions won both the boys and girls competitions with over 100 points in both contests with the Pea Ridge boys taking 15th place with 10 points while the girls finished 14th with 9 markers.

Scott Fisher in the 200 and Ricardo Snyder in the discus were the top finishers for Pea Ridge in the meet. Fisher took fifth with a time of 24.2 with Snyder also taking a fifth, with a 100-6 effort. The other 2points scored in the boys meet were in the 3200 meter run with Colton Holtgrewe finishing seventh with a time of 12:46.8.

Kimberly Cribbs was the best finisher for the girls individually, taking sixth in the 800 with a 3:04.5 clocking. Megan Harris scored a pair of points with a seventh in the 3200 meter run (17:41). Deborah Beard and Taylor Sherman earned eighth place ribbons to round out the individual scoring. Beard ran the 100 in 14.00 with Shermancompleting the 3200 distance in 18:23.

The Lady ’Hawks’ 4x100 meter relay finished seventh with a time of 58.75. Relay members were Beard, Cribbs, Shantel Morgan and Erin DuVal.

Other competitors in other events included: Fisher, 11th in the 100 (11.73); Dakota Coan, 20th in the 400 (62.48); Caleb Killman and Tyler Norman, 800 runners; 4x100 relay 13th (50:3) with relay runners Chase Thetford, Roughton, Coan and Woolard; and 4x800 relay 10thwith relay runners Roughton, Norman, Killman and Raylee.

Team scores for the boys were Gravette, 103; Farmington, 89; Jay, 62; Shiloh, 61; Gentry, 52; Green Forest, 51; Huntsville, 45;

Elkins, 38; Miami, 31; Decatur, 28; Eureka Springs, 24; Prairie Grove, 21; Siloam Springs, 21;

Berryville, 17; Pea Ridge, 10;

Greenland, 7; and Lincoln, 3.

In the girls’ division, the scores were: Gravette, 119; Miami, 101; Berryville, 65; Jay, 64;

Green Forest, 47; Huntsville, 38; Prairie Grove, 37; Elkins, 36;

Shiloh, 34; Lincoln, 31; Gentry, 26; Siloam Springs, 22; Eureka Springs, 18; and Pea Ridge, 9.

The Senior ’Hawks will be action tomorrow in the Eureka Springs Invitational.
