PEA RIDGE — Rick and Linda Whitaker of Pea Ridge announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Amy Colleen Whitaker of Pea Ridge, to Preston Earl Stokes of Greenland.

Whitaker is a 2002 graduate of Pea Ridge High School and is employed at Rogers Family Practice. She is a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Pea Ridge.

She is the granddaughter of Betty Sanders of Pea Ridge and the late Herman Sanders and the late Ben and Ellen Whitaker.

Stokes is the son of Earl and DeAnna Stokes of Greenland. He is a 2002 graduate of Greenland High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 2003-2006. He is employed by Anderson Heat and Air.

He is the grandson of Max and Mary Moore of Fayetteville, Clyde and Linda Stokes of Fayetteville and Colleen Stokes of Greenland.

The wedding is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Bella Vista Lutheran Church. A reception will follow at Riordan Hall.

The couple plans to make their home in Springdale.
