Little 'Hawks kick off season

— The second and third grade Little 'Hawks kicked off the season Saturday, Sept. 12, with White vs. Red with the victory going to the White team. Matthew Watson let the way rushing with 91 yards on seven carries for two touchdowns and two 2-point conversions. Quarterback Jonathan Watson added 54 yards on four carries. Other rushers were Carson Rhine with a 40 yard touchdown run and Ryan Rogers went 35 yards for a touchdown with Todd Johnson adding the 2-point conversion.

The offensive line opened huge holes for the backs led by Dalton Nesbitt, Cade Prince, Brodie Weber, Braden Phillips, Dillon Wallace, Colton Seacrist and Tate Busey.

Defensively, the White team was tough holding the Red team to 0 yards and no first downs. Leading the way on defense was Jonathan Watson, Matthew Watson, Nesbitt, Phillips and Prince.

The next game for White is at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Pea Bowl.
