— Jo Anna Marie Aaron, 27, of Anderson, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, from injuries sustained in a four-wheeler accident. She was born Aug. 2, 1982, in Houston, Texas to Glenn Eric and Pamela Kay (Hardeman) Lilly.

She moved to Anderson, Mo. with her family in 1995. She was currently employed by MoArk in Anderson. In May of 2002 she married Jeff Aaron. She enjoyed sewing, craft projects, listening to music and watching movies.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Harley Aaron, on March 31, 2006.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff Aaron; two daughters, Joni Kay and Jodi Lynn Aaron both of the home; her mother, Pamela Cheshire and husband; Claire W. of Anderson; her father, Glenn Eric Lilly and wife Patricia Ann of Splendora, Texas; two brothers, James Lilly of Jane, Mo. and Christopher Lilly of Anderson; a sister, Jennifer Lilly of Anderson; a half-sister, Wendy Cisco of Tarkington, Texas; three step-brothers, Michael Cisco of Splendora, Texas, Coty Cheshire of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Nicholas Cheshire of Rogers, Ark.; two step-sisters, Fondra Alexander of Cleveland, Texas and Nicole Watts of Rogers; an honorary brother, Shawn McKinzie of Pineville, Mo.; and many other family and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 14, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor David Munoz. Burial was in the New Bethel Cemetery near Anderson. Arrangements were by the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo.

Pallbearers were Shawn McKinzie, David Duke Blazer, Patrick Henry, Billy Watts, Coty Cheshire and Tony Torres.

Howard W. Alton Jr.

Howard W. Alton Jr., 72, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born April 22, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., to Howard W. Alton Sr. and Lorraine Busse Alton.

As a banker for Arlington Park Racetrack in Chicago and with his partnerships in West Point Thoroughbreds, he was able to mesh his love for horses with his work. Later in life, he became an entrepreneur in the stock market. He was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks fan. As a 1959 graduate of the Citadel, he created a scholarship for Arkansas students to attend the Citadel. He was a community group leader at Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas in Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marietta V. Alton, on April 5, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Dana Alton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis Alton and Debbie Alton of Traverse City, Mich., and Jeff Alton and Jessica Alton of New York City, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Taryne Tovar and her husband George Tovar of Minneapolis, Minn.; a stepson, Brannon Dixon and his wife Meredith Dixon of Louisville, Ky.; a grandson, Aidan Dixon of Syracuse, N.Y., two granddaughters, Peyton Dixon and Makenna Dixon, both of Louisville; several nieces; and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, in the Training Center Sanctuary of Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas in Rogers with Pastor Robert Cupp and Pastor Mickey Rapier.

Inurnment will be at a later date at the Martin Cemetery near Larue, Ark. Cremation and memorial services are by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Jose Maria Amaya, 60, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at his home in Rogers with his family and friends at his side. He was born April 3, 1949, in El Salvador to Camilo Amaya and Maria Luisa Orellana de Amaya.

He married Gloria L. Alas on Sept. 5, 1996 in El Salvador. He worked for Tyson Foods as a machine operator and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 27 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working. He loved to work as much as he could to take care of his family. He was a great husband, father, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Camilo Amaya and Maria Luisa Orellana de Amaya; and one brother, Ilario Amaya.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria L. Amaya; two sons, Juan M. Villatoro and Jose Amaya Jr. of Rogers; two daughters, Alva A. Amaya of Italy and Elizabeth Villatoro of Bentonville, Ark.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Nicolas Amaya and Candelaria Amaya and Benjamin Amaya of El Salvador; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dina Amaya and Manuel Amaya of Houston, Texas and Elida Amaya of El Salvador; three grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Benton County Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Rogers with Father Salvador Vega. Burial was at Benton County Memorial Park. Arrangements were by the Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home of Rogers.

Billie Faye Ames

Billie Faye Ames, 64, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, in Springfield, Mo. She was born Aug. 31, 1945, in Springdale, Ark., to James Fay Lynch and Anna Lou Burba Lynch.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include two daughters, Stacy Ames and Gabrielle Roles, both of Rogers; a sister, Connie Proctor-Buckle of Springdale, Ark.; and two grandsons.

Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 11, at the Friendship Cemetery in Springdale. Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale, Ark.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Al Bachert

Al Bachert, 93, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at Innisfree Skilled Care Center in Rogers. He was born May 5, 1916, in Chicago, Ill., to Clara Rosenwinkel Bachert and Max Bachert.

He was a sales manager for many years and a long time member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Bachert; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kurt Bachert and Dianna Bachert of Rogers and Bruce Bachert and Bonnie Bachert of Mission Viejo, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Karel Seddon and Ken Seddon of Caldonia, Mich.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home.

Linnie Elinore Christensen

Linnie Elinore Christensen, 97, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at Heritage Park Nursing Center in Rogers. She was born March 14, 1912, in Crystal Lake, Ill., to Williams Peters and Alvina Schroeder Peters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Einer Christensen; a daughter, Ruth Christensen; and five brothers.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Herbert Christensen and Linda Christensen of Rogers; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Sept. 10, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rogers. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.

Lee Ora Bray Edens Donahue

Lee Ora Bray Edens Donahue, 80, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Ashley Health and Rehabilitation in Rogers, following a long battle with cancer. She was born July 7, 1929, in the Freedom community near Garfield, Ark., to Ruben Bray and Lucy Birge Bray.

She married Mack Edens on Dec. 21, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1991 after a 13-year illness.

She married Max Donahue in 1992, and the couple traveled the United States. He preceded her in death in 2002, following a short illness.

She had retired from Emerson Electric and was a member of the Brightwater Memorial United Methodist Church in Rogers.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Bray Tittle; and three brothers, Ward Bray, Lynn Bray and Martin Bray.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim Edens and Donna Edens of Garfield, Ark.; a sister and brother-in-law, Viola Carden and Carl Carden of Jacket, Mo.; two grandsons, Justin Edens of Noel, Mo., and Travis Edens of Rogers; a great-grandson, Orian of Rogers; three stepdaughters and their families; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 11, at the Brightwater Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Matthew I. Daniels. Burial was at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Avoca, Ark. Arrangements were by Rollins Funeral Home of

Stella May Morris

Stella May Morris, 95, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born July 9, 1914, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to Riley Bennett and Julie Buckner Bennett.

She was retired from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, where she worked in housekeeping.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Morris; a daughter, Ruby Watkins; a son, Leroy Todd; a grandson, Steve Ev ans; two sisters, Rena Deason and Della Edwards; and six brothers, Elmer Bennett Willis Bennett, Robert Bennett, Hurcle Bennett, Alex Bennett and an infant brother.

Survivors include four grandchildren, Thelma Jean Welch of Siloam Springs, Ark., James Watkins of Lowell, Ark., Lynn Alexander of Rogers and Vicki Hearne of Gravette, Ark.; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 10, at Wasson Funeral Home with Kirk Hartness. Burial was at the Bell Cemetery in Adair County, Okla. Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Ark.

Janelle Ruth Penner

Janelle Ruth Penner, 70, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at her home. She was born Feb. 16, 1939, in Hochatown, Okla., to J.D. Clinton and Mamie Murphy Clinton.

She moved to Bella Vista 10 years ago from Little Rock, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Deryle Penner.

Survivors include a son, Duane Penner of Lowell, Ark.; a brother, Charles Clinton of Arcadia, Calif.; five sisters, Marvena Shelley of Lawton, Okla., Bea Smith of De Queen, Ark., Inez Hudson of Oklahoma City, Okla., Pat Roberts of Texarkana, Ark., and Nelda Coulter of Sherwood, Ark.; two grandsons, Madison F. Penner and James D. Penner; and nine nieces and nephews.

Burial was in De Queen, Ark. Local arrangements were by the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Norma Valles

Norma Valles, 81, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, She was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Raymond Bitschy and Elizabeth Rolfe Bitschy.

She moved to Pea Ridge from Anaheim, Calif., in 1988. She was a published poet and was awarded "Editor's Choice Award" for outstanding achievement in poetry. She enjoyed music, flower gardening, and collecting cats and angels. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Pea Ridge.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Valles; and a son, Greg Valles.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Valles; two daughters and a son-in-law, Michele Hurtado and Richard Hurtado of Temecula, Calif., and Denise Bennett of Lowell, Ark.; a sister, Joan Goddard of Alberta, Canada; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Assembly of God Church in Pea Ridge with Pastor Edward Brewer. Burial was at Pea Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

Henry Melvin Veach

Henry Melvin Veach, 73, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at his home. He was born June 19, 1936, in Lynn County, Texas, to Troy Veach and Vivian Jackson Veach.

He graduated in 1954 from O'Donnell High School, where he was a drum major. He married Barbara Marcy on Nov. 22, 1954, in Lovington, N.M. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a crew chief from 1955 to 1958, including a tour of duty in Okinawa, Japan.

He served in the ministry from 1961 to 1992, building several mission churches and congregations. As branch manager for Lewis Construction from 1967 to 1992, he oversaw the building of many major streets and highways in the Texas Panhandle. He was a member of the Gray County (Texas) Airport Board and the Confederate Air Force of Perry Lefors Field from 1984 to 1992.

In 1992, he became the director of Public Works for the city of Borger, Texas, where he served until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission from 1995 to 2008. He was a member of All Saints' Episcopal Church in Bentonville, Ark.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara Veach; a daughter and sonin-law, Brenda Zedlitz and Mark Zedlitz of Rogers; a sister, Wanda McKibben of Clovis, N.M.; two brothers, Ray Veach of Gatesville, Texas, and Kent Veach of Plainview, Texas; a grandson, Brendan Mark Zedlitz of Evergreen, Colo.; and two granddaughters, Hilary Zedlitz and Chloe Zedlitz, both of Rogers.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Sept. 12, at All Saints' Episcopal Church (meeting at Christ the King Lutheran Church) in Bentonville, Ark. Cremation arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of All Saints' Episcopal Church, 406 W. Central Ave., Bentonville, AR 72712.

Sherri A. Willett

Sherri A. Willett, 83, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Leeds, Ala., to George Whisenhunt and Dora Watson Whisenhunt.

She was a consignmentshop owner.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-inlaw, Doree Rice and Doyle Rice, and Harilyn Willett, all of Rogers; a brother, Ted Whisenhunt of Alabama; two sisters, Nona Cash and Jackie Cole, both of Alabama; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements were by the Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers.
