— The 2009 Pea Ridge Fall Clean Up began Tuesday, Sept. 15. Drop off hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7 a.m.

to 5 p.m. Saturday. No curb side pickup will be provided dumpsters will be located at the city property behind Village Hardware. Bring an ID and proof of residency.

There is a maximum of three trips per household with no exceptions. For questions, call 451-8654 or 451-1122.

NEBCO fundraiser

GARFIELD - The 16th annual NEBCO Turkey Shoot will begin at 9 a.m.

Saturday, Sept. 26, at the NEBCO fire station No. 1, U.S. Hwy. 62 and S. Wimpy Jones Road. In addition to the ever popular shotgun, poker and clay bird turkey shoots, there will be bingo, both silent and live auctions, an all-day long raffle with great prizes, the human bowling ball game, live music, plus games and prizes for the kids.

This year's lunch features ribs, pulled pork or chicken, with baked beans, coleslaw, dessert and drink. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Adults just $8, children under 10 just $5. A concession stand will also be open throughout the day with drinks, snacks and snow cones.

Once again, the NEBCO Turkey Shoot will feature their 6th annual "Rib Cookoff." Judging for the Rib Cook-off will be at noon, and shortly after that racks of ribs may be purchased directly from the various cooks. PINEVILLE, Mo. - The10th all-school Blackhawk reunion is set for 10 a.m.

21st Annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump

The 21st annual Pea Ridge Mule Jump will be held beginning at 9 a.m.

Saturday, Oct. 10 at Pea Ridge High School. There will be halter class, a stick mule event for children, barrel and flag races, pole bending, hog calling and of course mule jumping!

The Flying Mule, a 5K run, will also be held preceding the event. Registration will begin at 6:45 a.m., with the race starting at 7:30 a.m. Entry fees will be $12 for adults and $7 forchildren 12 and under.

VFW four person scramble

Big Sugar Golf Club and VFW Post 8109 will hold a four person scramble at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, with a rainout date set for Sunday, Oct. 11.

Entry is $240 per team or $60 per person. Sign up at Big Sugar Golf Club, Arvest Bank or Community First Bank. No one under 21 years of age please.

Prizes will go to the four closest to pin and the four longest drives. Mulligans will be available for $5, one per nine holes, two per player. There will also be lunch, a silent auction and door prizes.
