PEA RIDGE — Virgie June Spears
Virgie June Spears, 71, of Anderson, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 14, following a battle with cancer.
She was born June 15, 1938, in the Beeman Hollow, Mo., community to Virgil Divineand Bertha Lenora Snow Divine.
She was a lifelong resident of McDonald County, Mo. She married Glen Doral Spears on June 15, 1956, in Beeman Hollow.
She worked on the family’s farm. She enjoyed her friends and neighbors at the farm and at the lake.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Olan Divine and Betty Divine; and a brotherin-law, Amos Shaver.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Glen Spears; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dennis Spears and Kerry Spears, and Virgil Spears and Becky Spears, all of Anderson, and Randy Spears of Jane, Mo.; three daughtersand two sons-in-law, Dixie Shoptaw of Siloam Springs, Ark., Teresa Miller and Frank Miller of Anderson and Della Adair and Jeff Adair of Pea Ridge; four sisters and three brothersin-law, Tressie Shaver of Goodman, Mo., Elizabeth Ballard and Fred Ballard, and Betty Qualls and Elk Qualls, all of Anderson, and Nancy Chase and Sonny Chase of Fairland, Okla.;
22 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and a greatgreat-grandchild.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 17, at the New Bethel Cemetery in Anderson with Frank Miller and Sonny Faust.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Kyle Ferdig, Kevin Ferdig, Dustin Shoptaw, Levi Spears, Dusty Spears and Travis Spears.
Arrangements were by Walker-Dowd Funeral Home of Anderson.
