Sarah Christine Marler, 68, of Washburn, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at Ashley Health and Rehabilitation in Rogers, Ark. She was born June 2, 1941, in Black Oak, Ark., to William Ernest Bond and Florie May Payne Bond.

She married Franklin Dee Marler on Sept. 1, 1957, in Springdale, Ark. She was a department floor leader at an arts and crafts factory for several years. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge, Ark. She enjoyed flower gardening and caring for her pets.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Baily Marler; and a sister, Carol Bolain.

Survivors include her husband, Dee Marler; a daughter and son-in-law, Dee Ann Decker and Richard Decker of Washburn; three sons and daughtersin-law, James Franklin Marler and Shirley Marler, and Robert Dwayne Marler and Tammy Marler, all of Ozark, Mo., and Larry Dale Marler and Kim Marler of Lowell, Ark.; a sister, Mary Ann Decker of Springdale, Ark.; three brothers, Joe Bond of Mammoth Springs, Ark., Billy Bond of Springdale and Danny Wayne Bond of Rogers, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with pastor Anthony Lane and pastor Euel Bilderback.

Ronny ‘Happy Jack’ McDonald

Ronny “Happy Jack” McDonald, 64, of Garfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, at his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1945, in Buckscuffle, Texas, to Gene McDonald and Dora Mae Thomas Mc-Donald.

Survivors include his wife of nine years, Lydia Holmes McDonald; five sons, Christopher Mc-Donald, Joel McDonald, Joe Hager, Stacy Cavender and Brad Cavender; three daughters, Deidera Harvey, Liz Cavender and Cornelia Hager; a sister, Becky Wilks; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers, Ark.

Nina Dean Patton

Nina Dean Patton, 84, of Bentonville, Ark., died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. She was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Osage, Ark., to Charles A. Ferguson and Mary Shackelford Ferguson.

She married Euel S. Patton on May 20, 1949. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bentonville, where she worked with the Dorcus Women’s Sewing Ministry, making baby quilts for the needy. She was a member and vice president of the Merry Matrons Extension Homemakers Club. For more than 20 years, she served as a clothing superintendent at the Benton County Fair. She served as clothing project leader for the Centerton 4-H Club for many years and enjoyed teaching young people to sew.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Euel Sylvester Patton; two sons and daughters-in-law, James M. Patton and Brenda Patton of Bentonville and Vernon Patton and Darlene Patton of Ozark, Ark.; a daughter and sonin-law, Janice Shofner and Bob Shofner of Centerton, Ark.; a brother and sisterin-law, Charles Ross Ferguson and Kathy Ferguson of Blackwell, Mo.; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Leah Ferguson of Bentonville, Marie Fulkerson and Harold Fulkerson of Gentry, Ark., Minnie Lou Easley and Jackie Easley of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Nellie Travis and Claude Travis of Chiniak, Alaska; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at the First United Methodist Church in Bentonville with the Rev. Rex Dickey, the Rev. Ben Hines and the Rev Susan Ledbetter.

Burial will be at the Bentonville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nina Dean Patton Memorial 4-H Scholarship Fund, in care of the Benton County 4-H Foundation, 1204 S.W. 14th St., Bentonville, AR 72712.

Larry E. Royer

Larry E. Royer, 67, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Monday, Oct. 5, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. He was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Ottawa County, Okla., to Harold Royer and Ella Faye Baumann Royer.

He was raised and educated in Joplin, Mo., and graduated from Joplin High School in 1960. He married Cheryl Lewis in August 1963 in Joplin. He graduated from Pittsburg State University in Kansas in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as an accountant for Phillip’s Petroleum in Bartlesville, Okla., for 30 years. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Bella Vista in 1999. He was a member of the Bella Vista Church of Christ. He enjoyed golf, traveling and Cardinal baseball.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Royer; and a sister, Barbara Bryan.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Royer; a son, Eric Eugene Royer of Seligman, Mo.; a daughter, Jennifer Gay Royer of Bentonville; his mother, Ella Faye Royer of Joplin, Mo.; and three brothers and sistersin-law, Kenneth J. Royer and Karen Royer and Le-Roy Royer and Sharon Royer, all of Joplin, and Chuck Royer and Vicki Royer of Bartlesville, Okla.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel with Randall Caselman.

Burial was at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Mo.

Arrangements were by Bella Vista Funeral Home.
