Group walks for diabetes research

Pea Ridge students, teachers and community members gathered Saturday, Sept. 12, for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes at the University of Arkansas campus.

Together the groups raised over $1,500 to be donated to the JDRF.

Pea Ridge fifth-grade students held a homeroom competition to raise money for the JDRF walk. Altogether the classes raised over $550 to help find a cure for type one diabetes.

The money raised for the foundation included $100 by the FCCLA, Mr. Johnson’s class – $165 , Mrs. Johnson’s class – $77, Mrs. Duvall’s class – $63, Mr. Duvall’s class – $126, Ms. Phillips’ class – $41 and Ms. Boyd’s class – $83.
