Pea Ridge Spotlight on Sports

— Dustin Phy Safety

What position do you play? Safety.

Where are you from? I’m from Greenland, Texas. I’ve lived in Pea Ridge about 10 years.

How many years have you played football in Pea Ridge? Three years.

Do you have plans after high school? I plan on going to college. I’m undecided, probably for psychology or something like that. The human mind is fascinating.

What do you do when you aren’t playing football? Hanging out with my friends. I like to hunt. I like squirrel hunting because it’s so fast paced.

What’s the hardest hit you have ever taken?

Colton Huet ... he just loved to go around hittin’ people. At practice, he blind-sided me, I just wasn’t ready for it.

What’s the best advice you ever got from a coach? Just don’t quit.

If I asked you to sing the Pea Ridge Alma Mater, could you? No, I don’t know it.

Tell me what you think about the homecoming game against Gentry this Friday. It’s on my birthday! It’s going to be a really good game. It’s a good rivalry, there’s a Ramsey on both teams. Tyler Ramsey’s cousin Caleb plays for them.

Does the whole team take on the family rivalry? Yeah, if it was my family we were playing, I would want to beat them.

What would you guess this year’s record will be? Well, we have four games left after Gentry and we already won one ... I’ll say 4-6.
