Library Notes: Wonderful books for sale at the library

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

— Well, she has finally done it; my beautiful daughter Amy married her sweetheart Preston Stokes at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. The wedding was wonderful and the reception was the best time ever! We danced and played and ate the greatest food and best cake. I wish I could offer all of you some of that cake. I served a small amount of the leftover cake to my family on Sunday (I saved and froze most of it and then proceeded to hide it from them so that I didn’t have to share!) The food was great, but there wasmeat and I would rather have dessert. They are at a resort on the west coast of Mexico now and I won’t see them until Sunday.

Preston had better be bringing me some great presents; since I gave him the best one first!

The library has been very busy this week. We have had a very generous donation of over 400 books.

These books are brand new; have only been read once and have been taken care of by a woman who loved books. They would make perfect birthday and Christmas gifts. The prices are the lowest you will find, I guarantee. Please come by during regular library hours and buy a lot of them! We need to clear them out to have the room, so that we can get the library back in shape; right now it is quite untidy.

We have our own new books by popular authors, the following is a list of just a few.

“Knock Out” by Catherine Coulter; one of her popular FBI thrillers

“The Sign” by Raymound Koury; author of the popular The Last Templar and The Sanctuary

“Traveling with Pomegranates” by Sue Monk Kidd and her daughter Ann Kidd Taylor

“Finger Lickin’ Fifteen” by Janet Evanovich

Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove Cookbook.

Library hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, closed at noon for lunch. The library phone is 451-8442.

Hope to see you soon!
