New committee carries old tradition

— We’re excited to keep the heritage of the Pea Ridge Mule Jump going for the 21st annual Mule Jump. We have many ideas for the future.

We became a committee when the Parks Commission members decided the Mule Jump was more than they could handle and still manage the city’s parks. So, a group of dedicated volunteers from different backgrounds committed to plan and oversee this year’s event.

From the first meeting on June 4, we’ve had many people interested in helping. The community really came together to form the committee and I think we work together well.

Something new this year is our location and we hope that will make us more visible and provide more accessible parking. We hope it will be better for the vendors, as well.

The Mule Jump is a great family- friendly event and great for visitors to our community. It is a good time for our residents and businessmen to get together.

I’m really grateful for all our volunteers and sponsors who gave of their time and energy to make this event happen again this year.
