Spotlight on Seniors

— Nathan Norris Middle Linebacker/Fullback

What position do you play? Middle linebacker and fullback.

Did you grow up in Pea Ridge? I’ve lived here all my life.

How long have you played football? Since seventh grade.

Do you have plans after high school? College - I’m undecided right now, but probably at the University of Arkansas.

You are a senior mentor, right? Tell me about that. It’s a good thing because so many freshman are so unsure of what high school is like. I’m there to tell them how it is, like upcoming events and Nerd Day, stuff like that. I have a group of them. I volunteered for it.

What do you have to say about Friday’s homecoming game against Gentry? It’s a good rivalry, I don’t really like them - I used to play baseball and they were always the team I wanted to beat. I have family in Gentry, my grandparents live there. They will sit in our stands (at the game).

What do you do when you aren’t playing football? I’m about to get a job at Dollar General, I think.

But I also like to just hang out with friends.

What’s your most memorable football moment? The fumble return last year that set us up for the one game we did win. Although I didn’t score, it was pretty exciting. I got to the one-yard line.

You said you played baseball, do you still? No, I haven’t for a while because of injuries. I played for a traveling team from Bentonville. But I plan on trying out this year, really for anywhere. I was pretty good at second base and outfield.

Do you have any goals for yourself this year?

Well, I already scored a touchdown, that was one. I want to raise my GPA up for college, too.
