Notes From the Nurse Flu clinics scheduled

— Time is getting close for the flu clinics. We had requested that all consents for vaccines be in to the campuses by Friday, Nov.

6, but several folks have lost their forms or changed their minds recently. Please contact your child’s campus or the Intermediate School nurse for more forms. Several families have already received seasonal flu vaccines and are just waiting for the H1N1.

We will have both available. Make sure, parents, that you return both the immunization reporting form and the FERPA form back to the school. We have to have both for your child to receive vaccines. I f you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call the school nurse.

Remember the dates, Nov. 30 clinic is for grades 6-12. We will be starting at the Middle School. Dec. 1 for K-5, we will start at the Primary School. All clinics will be located in the school gymnasiums. The Intermediate School will use the old gym not the mini gym. We will begin byno later than 8:30 a.m. Parents are welcome to come with their child but there is no set schedule for classes going through the clinic.

We intend to keep things moving in a very timely manner. Take note to have your children dressed favorably to receive vaccines. Short sleeves would be easiest. Children less than 45 pounds will receive injections in the thigh muscle, above that weight they are given in the deltoid of the arm.

We have had a wonderful response of volunteers.

School officials thank each and every one of you ahead of time for your help and also to school organizations and community members for contributing to the functioning of the school flu clinics. We are all working together to help our children stay healthy!
