Library Notes Thankful for unique American holiday

— The library has some exciting new books in, most of the popular ones on the best seller list. We are still having our book sale; it is going very well.

If you know of anyone who enjoys owning their own books to read, we have many that would be a great addition to their. One should always have extra books on hand in case winter weather gets nasty and it is a problem getting to the library.

We are still looking for a replacement Library Board member; we need to have the applications by our next meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 2:30 p.m. Duties involve a once per month meeting, making decisions on policy, purchases, etc.

It is a six-year sentence (Imean position!) but not a difficult one. Our budget is easy and does not require any extensive knowledge of accounting. All are welcome to apply.

The library is passing out Thanksgiving treats to all of the children who come in during November, so be sure to bring them by for a visit.

I would like to remind that the library will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 25-26. Any books showing that they are due back by that datewill not be due until Tuesday, Dec. 1, so enjoy your books for a little longer.

I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving Day however you celebrate.

One friend I know takes the family and goes to the movies all day, taking time to eat between them at whatever restaurant is open; others stay home having quiet time, waiting on phone calls from children, others are planning a huge (that would be us!) dinner where we will stuff ourselves silly and then lay around and moan about it. Our family has evolved through the years, adding people, losing people, trying new recipes; but we are consistent with our thoughts of thankfulness.

I am so blessed to have afamily in which all are involved Christians.

I think I appreciate Thanksgiving the most of all the holidays because it is uniquely American. I remember being so proud of that when I was a child;

that of all the countries in the world, no one celebrated this holiday but us.

We have a unique country;

I pray we always do.

I hope this Thanksgiving we will all be asking God to bless us and restore us to our greatness.

Have a blessed, Godly American Thanksgiving!
