PEA RIDGE LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

— Well done, veterans

To all men and women who are serving and have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America:

Thanks to all of you for serving our country and continue to serve our country. May God bless all of you and good ole United States of America!

Two of my brothers and I served in the European theater in Germany and Italy. I had seven nephews from the same family who served in the Armed Forces.

Sincerely, TECH 5 CPL. ROLLO VAUN SCHELL, WWII COMBAT VETERAN (1944-1946) Bentonville, Ark.

Our team did well

The fifth-grade Little ’Hawks did it again; they were undefeated for the second year in a row. And, yes, we did survive being scored on. Our team’s foundation is strong, built by volunteers and caring individuals who are in this for more than just the final score. But winning sure does feel good.

To all of you involved in this year’s football program, thank you for the opportunity for my family to be a part of it all. You have heightened my awareness that volunteerism does pay.

Coaches, you did a great job. You truly care about each player. Your compassion and willingness to give of yourself for the better of our youth show both on and off the field.

The dedication, patience, firm but respectful manner in which you teach is to be commended.

Being a mentor is a very important role to play in a young person’s life. I am thankful for my son to have mentors of this caliber. I have watched him, and his teammates grow as individuals this year, from the first practice to the final game.

We were witnesses to something more than just a winning year. Our team has a special bond.

They pray together, show respect for the opposing team and each other.

The parents are involved, supporting the team at practice, volunteering to help in any capacity. Not to mention what a supporting fan club at each and every game.

Again, thank you all.

Cheer leaders, coaches, booster club, teachers, parents, fans, volunteers, we could not do this without each and every one of you.

This is our team, our youth and the future leaders of our community.

Stand proud everyone. Until next year. Go ’Hawks!

VICKI INGRAM, FIFTH-GRADE FOOTBALL MOM Pea Ridge, Ark.
