PEA RIDGE — Shala Dawn Allcorn

Shala Dawn Allcorn, 20, of Pea Ridge, died Sunday, Nov. 1, in Pea Ridge as aresult of an automobile accident.

She was born March 3, 1989, at Enid, Okla., to James EugeneAllcorn and Barbara Ann Cranford Dye.

She lived in the area most of her life. She was a certified nurse assistant at Highland Health Care in Bella Vista and was currently taking nursing classes at Northeastern Technical College. She enjoyed helping others, camping, fishing, taking pictures of old barns and collecting dolphins.

She was preceded in death by her step-father, Robert Faye Dye.

Survivors include her mother, Barbara Dye of Pea Ridge; her father, James Allcorn of Boonville; her fiancé, Joel Foltz of Pea Ridge; and one brother, Joshua Allcorn and wife, Stephanie, of Pea Ridge.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Service is set for 2 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 5, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with John Fields officiating.

Burial will be at Seligman, Mo., City Cemetery.

Kathrine Martha Cluck, 92, of San Angelo, Texas, formally of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, Oct. 26. She was born March 4, 1917, in Fort Smith, Ark., to William J. Phillips and Susie Moore Phillips.

She was a homemaker.

She was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, reading her Bible, going to church and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Cluck Sr.; a granddaughter, Sandra Cluck; a brother, William Phillips Jr.; and three sisters, Alta Alstate, Edna Kelly and Sybil Patterson.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-inlaw, Tommy Cluck Jr. and Carolyn Cluck of Rogers, and Jessie Cluck and Fabby Cluck of Los Alamos, Colo.; a daughter and sonin-law, Patricia Gauwain and Randy Gauwain of San Angelo; a sister, Burle Colton of Van Buren, Ark.;

14 grandchildren; 34 greatgrandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A service was held Monday, Nov. 2, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with pastor Randy Gauwine.

Burial was at Ruddick Cemetery near Garfield, Ark.

Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Iris Louise Galstad Forbes de Barbosa

Iris Louise Galstad Forbes de Barbosa, 75, died Sunday, Oct. 18, at her home in Mexico City.

She was born Aug. 17, 1934, to Blaine Harvey Galstad and Hazel Vivian Forbes Galstad at the U.S. Military Hospital at Fort Riley, Kan., where her father, a career soldier, served with the last horse-mounted U.S.

Cavalry.

Iris attended schools in Kansas, Texas and Arkansas, and after graduating from Pea Ridge High School in 1952, attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She later taught school in southwestMissouri and San Antonio, Texas. A roadside breakdown during a 1950s vacation in Mexico resulted in Iris meeting the love of her life and future husband, Rafael Barbosa, the Mexican federal highway police officer who came to her rescue. Iris went on to become a native-level Spanish speaker; the couple lived in the Saltillo area, Orizaba, and elsewhere in Mexico where Rafael was posted, prior to their retirement in Mexico City.

She assisted her Iztapalapa neighborhood friends and children in English instruction, and often befriended and restored to health stray animals that came her way;

she remained a lifelong avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Anna Elaine Galstad Thompson Case.

Survivors include her niece, Vivian Lorraine Thompson of Taos, N.M.;

nephews, Philip Alan Thompson of Fayetteville (presently serving in Manila, Philippines) and Shelby Forbes Case of Monmouth, Ore.; brotherin-law George Baxter Case of Charleston, Ore.; aunt Mary Forbes Haskell-Hansen of Cedar Falls, Iowa;

and stepchildren Graciela Barbosa, Arturo Barbosa and Marisa Barbosa, all of Mexico.

Following a neighborhood “velatorio” (wake or visitation service) and memorial mass, she was laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Rafael, on Monday, Oct. 19, at Jardines de Tlalnepantla Memorial Park northwest of Mexico City.

Wayne Howard

GARFIELD - Wayne Howard, 86, died Oct. 31, 2009. He was born May6, 1923, in Mulvane, Kan., to the late Clifford and Ethel (Bartholemew) Howard.

He workedin a supervisory capacity with the Gas Service Company, now called Oneok, in Augusta and El Dorado, Kan., for 37 years. He retired to Arkansas on Beaver Lake in 1986.

He owned and operated a dock maintenance service on Beaver Lake in Garfield until June 1, 2009. He also worked in sales for L&H Dock Company until the time of his death.

He enjoyed boating, water skiing and anything to do with the lake, fellowshipping with neighbors, friends and family.

He was a member of the Rotary Club in Augusta, Kan., and attended Lost Bridge Community Church in Garfield. He served his country in the United States Army Strategic Air Command.

Survivors include his wife, Jan Howard, of the home; a son, Dr. Michael Howard and wife, Dr.

Valerie Carter, of Bangor, Maine; a daughter, Katherine Boggs and husband, John, of Oakwood, Ga.;

a step-daughter, KellyStrange and husband, David, of Fort Worth, Texas; a step-son, Kipp Baker of Estes Park, Colo.; three grandchildren, Emma Howard, Dr. Luke Hoagland and fiancé, Dr. Monica Lupo, and Wayne Hoagland; seven step-grandchildren, Jeremy Esposito, Heather Rowles and husband, Matt, Ginger Dutton and husband, Jon, Rachael Boggs, Cory Strange and wife, Shawna, Cameron Strange and wife, Stephanie, Casey Strange and wife, Shannon; 11 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Whitney Mountain Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Leroy Thompson.

Theola Fayne Johnson of Broken Arrow, Okla., died Oct. 31, in Broken Arrow.

She was born Sept. 3, 1926, in Spring Valley, Ark., to William Theodore and Alice Cook Johnson.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow, Okla.

She is survived by a sister, Marjorie J. Johnson of Broken Arrow; and five cousins, Jim Parsley and wife, Laurie, of Columbus, Neb., Linda Williams and husband, Ivan, and Ron Parsley and wife, Barbara, all of Springdale, Ark., Deborah Houston and husband, Ken, of Kansas City, Mo., and Bill Fitch of Pea Ridge.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Ron Parsley officiating.

Robin Suzanne Stamps Rainey, 45, of Centerton, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 27,at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

She was born Sept.

3, 1964, in Springdale, Ark., to John Vernon Stamps and Mollie Lou Blythe Stamps-Gonzales.

She married Bruce Kendall Rainey Feb. 28, 1998, in Eureka Springs, Ark. She volunteered with the PTO and liked to help people.

She enjoyed camping, going to the river, talking on the phone and girls’ night out.

She was preceded in death by her father, JohnVernon Stamps; a sister, Bonnye Lou Stamps-Denson; and her mother-in-law, Ada Cleo Rainey.

Harold Gene See

Harold Gene See, 59, of Cape Fair, Mo., formerly of Pea Ridge, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at his home.

He was born July 10, 1950, in Colorado.

He had lived in the Cape Fair area the past two years, moving from Pea Ridge. He was a construction worker and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Eric Davis and Shelly Davis of Oklahoma, and Bryan See and Alisha See, and Nathan See and Nikki See, all of Arkansas; a daughter and son-in-law, Brandy Bass and Josh Bass of Arkansas;

a sister and brother-in-law, Lillian Bledsoe and Robert Bledsoe of Kansas; and six grandchildren, Erica Davis, Chase Davis, Bayleigh Bass, Clayton Bass, Hannah See and Malachi See.

Austa Iva Lee Spence

Austa Iva Lee Spence, 90, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 28, atNew Hope Health and Rehab in Rogers. She was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Benton County, Ark., to Fred FranklinBolain and Florence Irene Ruth McCurdy Bolain.

She lived in Benton County all her life. She did line work for Tyson Foods and Cargill. She was a member of the downtown Church of Christ in Rogers.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidery and sitting outside in her swing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Spence, who died in 1977; a brother, Ivan Bolain; and a sister, Wanda Caffey.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Juanita Kaiser and Evert Kaiser of Bentonville, Ark.; a sister, Evelyn Long of Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jeremy Garey Stacy, 25, of Pea Ridge died Sunday, Nov. 1, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville.

He was born Aug. 29, 1984.

W.C. ‘Bill’ Turney

W.C. “Bill” Turney, 86, of Garfield, died Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale. He was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Garfield, to the late William Albertand Agnus Turney.

Bill retired in 1980 after spending all of his life working in a saw mill. He served in the Navy two years during WWII. He was a member of the Reddick Assembly of God Church and enjoyed raising a garden and working in his shop, among many things.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wesly Turney and K.V. Turney.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Melvina Turney; one son, Mike Turney of Garfield;

one sister, Mabel White of Broken Arrow, Okla.;

three sisters-in-law, Betty Turney of Garfield, Dot Turney of Oregon and Inez Turney of Rogers; one granddaughter, Dawn M.

Turney; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is set for noon Wednesday, Nov. 4, preceding the service.

Services will be 1 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Reddick Assembly of God with pastor Doug Parish officiating. Burial will follow at Ruddick Cemetery.

Odell Williams

Odell Williams, 92, of Tchula, Miss., formally of Bella Vista, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Mississippi. He was born April 22, 1917, in Covington County, Ala.

He was a retired organizer for Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America, and an ordained minister, who served as interim pastor of several Southern Baptist churches in Covington County. He was also a member of several gospel quartets, the latest of which was The Old Timers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Williams; a son, Matthew Baugh; and a great-granddaughter, Avery Baugh.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Freeman of Tchula; two grandsons, Benjamin and Robert Baugh, both of Springdale;

one granddaughter; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, Oct. 31, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Burial was at Pea Ridge Cemetery.
