Library Notes ‘Spooky’ visitors at library

— The library was visited by a lot of strange characters on Saturday night! It was such fun to see all of the children in their costumes. They were all so polite and thanked me so nicely for their treat bags.

We have some great kids in Pea Ridge. The weather was perfect; I saw many people walking and riding on trailers. It was always such a big treat for us “country” children to get to come into town and trick-or-treat the town people. My sisters and cousins and I were always so impressed to get store bought candy. All we had was that homemade stuff my mom always made. What a difference being a grown-up is! Now I miss that homemade candy and would never attempt to make it myself;

hint-hint, Mom, Christmas is coming and we will be expecting the usual.

The sale of books at the library is going well; the library looks a good deal more tidy than it did. Please remember, these volumes would make great gifts for people who don’t get out much, plus you should always have your own reading library at home in case winter weather gets nasty. Come by and see what we have!

We have many new volumes in; fall is a good time for authors to get their new editions out for the holiday season. Can you imagine, some people don’t read their favorite authors immediately, but wait and let people buy them copies for Christmas?

The Library Board is in need of a new member. Our dear Louise David resigned;

between her yard work and grandma duties, she had more than enough to do. (I, myself, can’t imagine why grandma duties would not leave you too much time! Remember, I’m the one who has to see new baby grandson Zeke every day!) The board members and I thank herfor her years of service. We appreciate her very much. If you would like to consider being on the Library Board, please come by the library for details of the volunteer job. It is only once a month and is really fun.

Library hours are 4 p.m.

to 8 p.m., Tuesday; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday; 10 a.m.

to 5 p.m., Thursday, closed at noon so the librarian can have a “Zeke” fix for the day! The library phone is 451-8442.

See you soon!
