— Pea Ridge Primary School has had a book fair for the last couple of weeks. The teachers said they are grateful to the students and parents who helped make the book fair a great success in helping theschool get more money to buy books for the library.

The classes competed in a class coin challenge. Each day the students brought coins to school for their teachers to buy books for their classroom. Every classdid well and raised around $1,500 for the teachers to put books in their classrooms. The winning class was Ms. Meagan Hussain’s kindergarten class which raised $200 for her classroom books.


Pvt. Ryan D. Walker

Army National Guard Pvt. Ryan D. Walker has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use and more.

He is the son of Tim and Jackie Walker of St. Clair St., Pea Ridge, and is a 2009 graduate of Pea Ridge High School.
