Students begin with orientation

— Orientation meetings for students at Pea Ridge High School will begin in less than two weeks, according to Rick Neal, high school principal.

The first meeting will be for seniors and their parents at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, in the high school. Neal said high school policies, class schedules, student handbooks, parking permits, EDLINE accounts and other student information will be available. The meeting for seniors will be in the high school cafeteria.

Sophomores and juniors and their parents are to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, in the high school gym.

Freshmen and their parents are to meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, in the high school cafeteria.

Neal said he mailed information for the coming year to students recently.

"The packet contained test scores, free and reduced lunch forms, course offerings and a master calendar of the upcoming year," Neal said. "Our staff at PRHS would like to welcome all new students to the district.

An open house for seventhand eighth-grade students will at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, in the middle school.

Sixth-grade students will have an open house at 6 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 17, at the middle school on Weston Street.

Students for third through fifth grades which will have classes in the upper elementary school will have open house on Monday, Aug. 17.

They will meet at:

◊6 p.m. third grade,

◊6:30 p.m. fourth grade and

◊7 p.m. fifth grade.

An open house for kindergarten through second-grade students will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, in the new primary school.

Kindergarten screening is set for Aug. 10 through Sept. 18.
