Troops appreciated and fed

— Military troops participating in a career course at the Pea Ridge National Military Park were treated to dinner by city officials, members of the Pea Ridge Ministerial Alliance and community.

The members of the 1st Battalion, 56th Air Defense Artillery Regiment from Fort Sill, Okla., were at the Pea Ridge National Military Park as part of the U.S.

Army Air Defense Artillery Captains Career Course.

“The supper was provided to share with them our appreciation and support of the men and women who serve this country,” Mayor Jackie Crabtree said. “This was also a chance for us to welcome soldiers from Australia, the Sudan, Moldavia, South Korea and several other countries.”

This was the first of what city leaders said they hope to be many in the future as different units come to themilitary park for training.

About four times a year, training is held at the park.

Crabtree said: “This is a small way for us to say thanks for what they do.”
