What position do you play? Point guard.

How many years have you played basketball in Pea Ridge? Since fourth grade. I moved here from a place around Hot Springs, Ark., in fourth grade.

Do you have plans after high school? Arkansas Tech, accounting. I don’t want to play in my freshman year, I think I’ll be too overwhelmed.

What is something about playing basketball that the average person may not know? We have a very organized practice plan that is timed out.

Like we do drills for five minutes, then we go on to something else. It’s nice to have it organized.

What’s your favorite thing about playing basketball? My teammates.

I’ve known everyone since I got here (in fourth grade) and we’re all still friends.

What are you going to miss mostabout high school? Probably my teammates. I see them every single day and spend time with them every day.

Do you have any time to have a job when it isn’t basketball season? No, I play other sports. I played volleyball this year and I run track - I run the 200 and 400. And this year I’m playing softball.

Do you have any game rituals or traditions? I always get Alicia Simpson to braid my bangs before the game. I don’t know if it helps me, but I can see better.

What’s your favorite food you couldn’t live without? Chicken alfredo.

What is playing on your iPod right now? “White Liar” by Miranda Lambert.

Do you have big plans for Christmas? Well, I turn 18 three days after Christmas so that’s a big plan.

4TH-GRADE ’HAWK HOOPSTERS

White 26/Gravette 0

In the fourth grade White game, Chase Duncan and Kenny Dorsey came out on fire, scoring 10 points in the first quarter. Malcolm Nobles and John Wilson came away with steals that resulted in fast breaks for the ’Hawks.

Jacob Gill made a bucket and two rebounds. Denver Yates played strong at post and earned one of two MVP awards. Chase Duncan received the second MVP title.

Black 20/Gravette 17

The fourth-grade Blackteam had a tough contest with the Lions Saturday. The Lions got on the board first.

The Blackhawks battled back with buckets by Hayden Holtgrew, Drew Winn and Aron Sanders, defensive MVP of the game. The second quarter showed great defense by the ’Hawks, with steals by Blake Willis andBradley Wright. Jakota Sainsbury led into transition buckets for the ’Hawks.Hayden Holtgrew came up with two huge free throws in the fourth quarter and earned offensive MVP. Key defense and rebounding in the fourth quarter by Zeek Akee and Kolby Rose was a big lift for the ’Hawks.
