PEA RIDGE — The library will be having its Christmas open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10. We will be having goodies and hot cider, fruit punch and treat bags for the children. We hope to see you there.

The library is having a Christmas special on cookbooks. The price is $12, two for $20. They make great gifts; my mom has been cooking almost entirely from this cookbook since it was printed, and I can guarantee that there are some good recipes in there. As a matter of fact, some of the goodies from the Christmas open house will come from that cookbook; so treat yourself to one or to someone else for a popular gift.

As a thank you to the community, the library has been giving away book bags. These are a good, sturdy plastic and quite sizable. Be sure to come by and get one; while you are there, be sure to check out some books to put in them.

As a reminder, the library will be closed Thursday, Dec. 24, to celebrate Christmas Eve day. We will be open on Thursday, Dec. 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (We are closing early, because I am sure the librarian will have some New Year’s Eve partying to do!)
