PEA RIDGE — What position do you play? Guard. How long have you been playing basketball in Pea Ridge? Since third grade. What are your plans after high school? Go to college, it’s between the University of Arkansas or University of the Ozarks, I’m undecided. What do you do in your spare time? Hang out with Kayla (Bangs). But we hardly have spare time because we’re constantly in basketball.
What do you think is the hardest team you have faced? Shiloh. Their players are big and fast. What’s your favorite thing about playing basketball? The competition, I’m really competitive. Do you have goals for yourself this year? Get a 4.0 GPA, I have to raise it up by .1. I want to try for a basketball scholarship to the U of O, the U of A is too big of a school.
Do you have anything that you do before every game? I usually drink a Red Bull. I think it helps but I don’t know. What other sports do you play? I play softball and I played volleyball this year.
What are you going to miss most about high school after graduation? My sports teams, basketball in particular. I’m settled here, college is going to be a whole new thing. If you had a superpower, what would it be? I want to be able to read peoples’ minds. SPORTS BRIEF

Brianna Foster, a fifthgrade student at Pea Ridge Intermediate School, has been chosen by the Artsonia National Online Gallery as its “Artist of the Week” in the third- through fifth-grade division.
Foster painted a black and white picture on a gray paper depicting a moon rising behind the Ozark woods. It was painted in John McGee’s art class earlier in November and placed on display in the school’s online art gallery. Her picture was chosen from the over 7,000 art works submitted to Artsonia last week. Her work was nominated by a committee at Artsonia and was voted on by people nationwide, receiving more votes than the winners in any other division.
For her efforts, Foster will receive a plaque from the Artsonia Corporation as well as a $50 gift certificate from the Dkick Blick art supply company. McGee will also receive a certificate for his winning student.
Foster is in Ms. Boyd’s homeroom.
All artwork completed by Pea Ridge students in grades kindergarten through the fifth grade can be seen as www. artsonia.com/pearidge2.
