— Brianna Foster, a fifthgrade student at Pea Ridge Intermediate School, has been chosen by the Artsonia National Online Gallery as its “Artist of the Week” in the third- through fifthgrade division.

Foster painted a black and white picture on a gray paper depicting a moon rising behind the Ozark woods. It was painted in John McGee’s art classearlier in November and placed on display in the school’s online art gallery.

Her picture was chosen from the over 7,000 art works submitted to Artsonia last week. Her work was nominated by a committee at Artsonia and was voted on by people nationwide, receiving more votes than the winners in any other division.

For her efforts, Foster will receive a plaque fromthe Artsonia Corporation as well as a $50 gift certificate from the Dkick Blick art supply company.

McGee will also receive a certificate for his winning student.

Foster is in Ms. Boyd’s homeroom.
