— Pea Ridge Schools recently received the results from last year's standardized testing, according to Bonnie Fullmer, curriculum coordinator. Continuing a trend of recent years, Pea Ridge students continue to show improvement in academic achievement.

Under federal mandate, students in grades 3-8 are required to test in Math and Literacy. Students in grades 5 and 7 also test in Science. End of Course tests are given to students after the completion of Algebra, Geometry, Biology and Grade 11 Literacy. Students are required to score at the proficient level.

Entering the new school year, there are many reasons to be proud of what Pea Ridge students are accomplishing, school officials. The Pea Ridge school district saw increases in percentages of students scoring advanced or proficient in 17 out of 18 tested areas. Pea Ridge students scored above the region and state average in 18 out of 18 tested areas. Historically, northwest Arkansas has had the highest regional averages in the state. It is a significant accomplishment to score above the regional and state average in every area.

Pea Ridge School District is committed to excellence in education. With support from parents and community, the students and school personnel have achieved new levels of academic success. What a great way to kick off the new school year.
